Texas A&M International University serves a broad community of students in Laredo and South Texas with unique needs as a result of unexpected hardships. In order to meet the needs of TAMIU students and their families, TAMIU has established an array of services to assist students with basic needs. Below you will find a list of resources available to enrolled students.

Office of Financial Aid
The mission of the Office of Financial Aid provides assistance and information on financial aid programs offered in order to pursue their educational goals.
TAMIU AIRES
TAMIU AIRES assists upper-level STEM students in completing their degrees on time and successfully transitioning into the workforce upon graduation.
Trellis Financial Coaching
Trellis Financial Coaching offers help to reach all education, career, and financial goals.
Health
Student Health Services
The Office of Student Health Services provides all registered TAMIU students with comprehensive services treated with qualified healthcare professionals. Services include first aid for illness and injury, women’s health, and immunizations.
Student Counseling Services
Texas A&M International University Student Counseling Center strives to provide a safe space for students to explore and address personal challenges to foster independence, encourage growth, and strengthen resiliency.
Student Disability Services
Disability Services for Students promotes a supportive learning community to empower students with disabilities to accomplish their academic goals by ensuring accessibility to university programs.
Recreational Sports
Recreational Sports provides programming and services for the TAMIU community. They provide participants with a sense of belonging and community at the University while staying healthy.
Nutrition
Dusty's Food Pantry
Help currently enrolled students focus on their studies without having to face the burden of food insecurity.
TAMIU Garden
Unites students to learn about gardening, healthy eating and caring for natural areas. Through this program, students can use the Garden serve their community.
Bethany House
Bethany House of Laredo is a local non-profit founded by Father Charles McNaboe with the mission “to feed the hungry and shelter the homeless.”
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Helps people buy the food they need for good health. People also can buy garden seeds with SNAP benefits.

Career Counseling
The Office of Career Services assists potential, current, and former students to identify, explore, select, and enter career programs and employment opportunities.
Career Closet
The Career Closet is a donation-based program where students can pick out interview-appropriate attire at no cost.

Plan your career and make career-related decisions. Explore new career opportunities, find wage and occupation information, learn about your interests and abilities, and use other labor market resources.
Pregnant & Parenting Student Resources
Workforce Solution
The Workforce Solutions for South Texas aim to build the future workforce by helping caregivers find quality child care along with helping child care providers become accredited. They supply parents and providers in finding resources and assistance along with helpful links to make sure all children in South Texas are supported in their learning, growth and development.
Grants for Single Mothers
In Texas, the state government through its ministries clearly understands the challenges of single parenthood. Several state support programs have made it possible for single parents living in Texas to get access to healthcare, education, food, shelter, and other basic needs for little or nothing.
South Texas Child Care Services Program (CCS)
CCS provides essential support to families in our community by supporting the growth and development of children ages 0-13, preventing abuse and neglect and promoting health and safety. Child care scholarships are available to help parents work, search for work, or attend school or job training.
Supporting the Academic Success of Pregnant and Parenting Students
The U.S. Department of Education is responsible for enforcing laws prohibiting discrimination in federally assisted educational programs and activities. This pamphlet has been prepared for pregnant and parenting students, which provides information on the requirements associated with pregnant and parenting students, the frequently asked questions pertaining to Title IX requirements, and strategies in assisting educators and supporting pregnant and parenting students through the programs designed.
Pregnant and Parenting Students-Athletes (NCAA)
NCAA provides resources and model best practices for student-athletes who become pregnant and/or are parents and the instructions where they study and compete.
Pregnant and Parenting Students (National Women's Law Center)
National Women's Law Center provides resources for pregnant and parenting students to not only have equal access to education, but also receive support to help them succeed in school.

Students, faculty, staff and community friends are encouraged to report any acts which diminish our University life experience.
