Accessing UCONNECT

I can't log into UCONNECT! What is my USER ID?
To log into to Uconnect, In the Secure Access Login box, enter your User Name and Password. This is the same information you use to login to any TAMIU e-mail.

Than click LOGIN

I am locked out of my Uconnect account.  What should I do?
Please contact the Office of the University Registrar at 956.326.2250 or at registrar@tamiu.edu .

Personal Information

How do I change my address and phone information on Uconnect?

Follow these steps:

  1. Login to UCONNECT
  2. Click "My Business" tab.
  3. In Registration Tools channel, click on "Registration Status"
  4. Click on "Personal Information
  5. Click on "Update Addresses and Phones
  6. Click on the "Current" link in the "Addresses and Phones" section.
  7. In the "Update Address(es) and Phone(s) -Update/Insert" page, read the information paragraph above the update form before updating your address.
  8. Update your address and phone information by filling in the required fields in the update address form.
  9. You may also add/update phone numbers by filling in fields in the Phone section of the update form.
  10. Click on the "Submit" button to commit your changes.
  11. You may now log off UCONNECT

Uconnect won't let me change/update my address!
When I submit my address changes I receive a "Valid From This Date / Until This Date combination overlaps existing address..." error.

When you insert a new address be sure to:

  • Read the dates in the "Valid From This Date: MM/DD/YYYY" and "Until This Date: MM/DD/YYYY" fields in the current address, first.
  • When you fill out the new address form, choose dates in the "Valid From This Date: MM/DD/YYYY" and "Until This Date: MM/DD/YYYY" fields that do not overlap with the current address. You can leave the "Until This Date: MM/DD/YYYY" blank.

When you update your address, make sure you enter a start date in the "Valid From This Date: MM/DD/YYYY" field and end date in the "Until this date: MM/DD/YYYY" field that does not overlap with the current permanent address you are trying to update. If you are unable to update your address, stop by the Office of the University Registrar in University Success Center, Suite 121 or contact our office at 956.326.2250.

Registration

How can I register for my classes on Uconnect?

  1. Login to UCONNECT
  2. Click on "My Business" Tab
  3. In Registration Tools channel, click on "Add or Drop Classes"
  4. Select "Term" and click on "Submit"
  5. in the "Add Classes Worksheet", enter "CRNs" (Course Reference Numbers) for the selected courses and click "Submit Changes". 
  6. You may now log off UCONNECT

           NOTE:   First Time Freshmen, College of Education majors (or students in a certification program), nursing majors, communication majors

                         and students with registration holds are not eligible to register online.

How can I view my schedule on UCONNECT?

  1. Login to UCONNECT
  2. Click on "My Business" Tab
  3. In Registration Tools channel, click on "Registration Status"
  4. Click on “Student" Tab
  5. Click on “Registration
  6. Click on “Student Detailed Schedule
  7. You may now log off UCONNECT

How can I view my grades on UCONNECT?

  1. Login to UCONNECT
  2. Click on “My Business” tab.
  3. In the Registration Tools channel, click "Registration Stauts"
  4. Click on "Student" Tab than "Student Records"
  5. Grades channel, select term and click "GO"
  6. Click on “Midterm Grades” or “Final Grades” 
  7. View or print your grades
  8. You may now log off UCONECT

How can I view my academic transcript on UCONNECT

  1. Login to UCONNECT
  2. Click on “My Business” tab
  3. In the Registration Tools channel, click on "Registration Status"
  4. Click on “Student” tab then "Student Records"
  5. Click on "Academic Transcript"
  6. Select Transcript Level and Type and click "Submit"
  7. You may now log off UCONNECT.

How can I withdraw from all my classes on UCONNECT?


A TAMIU student cannot withdraw himself or herself completely from TAMIU using UCONNECT. A complete withdrawal from TAMIU may be requested by completing a withdrawal form and submitting this form to the Office of the University Registrar.

Financial Aid

How can I accept/decline my Financial Aid Award on UCONNECT?

  1. Login to UCONNECT
  2. Click on "My Business" tab
  3. In the Registration Tools channel, click on "Registration Status"
  4. Click on “Financial Aid Awards" link 
  5. Select current aid year, click on "Submit"
  6. Once on the "Accept Award Offer" tab. Select "Accept" or "Decline" for each award
  7. Click on "Submit Decision"
  8. You may now log off UCONNECT

If you are accepting a Stafford Loan, please allow 3 to 5 business days for the Office of Financial Aid to create your loan on http://lbw.tgslc.org .  Visit http://www.tamiu.edu/affairs/financial for instructions and “Entrance Counseling” dates.  Contact the Office of Financial Aid at 956.326.2225 or email at financialaid@tamiu.edu for more information.

Online Payments

How can I pay my tuition and fees on UCONNECT?

  1. Login to UCONNECT
  2. In the" My Account" channel, click on semester hyperlink
  3. Click on “Credit Card Payment” at the bottom of the page
  4. Click on "Make a Payment"
  5. Login to the TAMIU Student Account Suite using your Student Banner ID and PIN
  6. Click on “Payments
  7. Click "Pay"
  8. Select "Credit Card" payment and click on "Go"
  9. Enter credit card information and click "Continue"
  10. Enter payment amount and click "Continue"
  11. Click on "Submit Payment"
  12. You may now log off UCONNECT

In account summary page it says that I owe $26,000. Why is my tuition bill so high?
The account summary page lists the total credits and debits for your account since you have been enrolled at TAMIU. This summary also includes charges for your current term as well as charges you have already paid from previous semesters. You can check the "Account Summary by Term" page to see your account balance for the current semester.

Online Transcript Requests

How can I request my transcript on UCONNECT?

               1. Log on to UCONNECT

               2. Click on "My Business" tab

               3. In the Registration Tools channel, click on "Registration Status"

               4. Click on “Student” tab then "Student Records"

               5. Click on “Academic Transcript” (Note: if you have a hold, you will not be able to request

                    a transcript)

               7. Click on “Request Printed Transcript” (towards the bottom of the page in the center)

               8. Select an address where the transcript should be delivered and click “Continue”.

               9. Select “Official” under Transcript Type and if necessary, make any changes to the

                   delivery address and click “Continue”. 

             10. Enter number of copies, select “Yes” for Official, enter the In-progress cutoff term

                    (usually the latest term on the pull-down menu), select when transcript should be processed

                    from the pull-down menu under Print Transcript, select “Pick-Up $3.00 per copy” or

                     "Mail Out $3.00 per copy" under Delivery Method and click “Continue”.

             11. You will then get a Transcript Request Summary. Verify your information and click

                    “Submit Request”. (Please note: If this is your first transcript request, the system will

                    automatically submit your request without any charges. If this is not your first transcript

                    request, the system will continue to another screen where you will enter your credit card

                    information and verify your billing address and then click “Submit Payment”. )

             12. Once submitted, please wait as your payment gets processed. You should get a

                    confirmation screen that includes your “Receipt No.”

             13. To view the status of your request, follow steps 1-6 and click on “Transcript Request

                    Status”.

             14. You may now log off UCONNECT.
