Most Summer Camp Registrations Open March 1st @ 8AM. We will host an on site registration in Student Center 118 from 9AM -12PM.

Keep your child’s mind and body active through out the year with an array of special summer camps and programs at Texas A&M International University.

Camps vary in length from 4 days to 8 weeks and ages 2-17!

Spring 2015

All students must wear shoes with a heel. Boys may wear casual clothing. Girls may wear casual clothing; how ever a black leotard and white tights are preferred. A solid color Mexican Ballet Folklorico practice skirt is also required for the girls.  Any student wishing to participate in public performances will be required to purchase their own costume.

Dusty Volleyball Training Camp

Teen/Adult classes are available in Ballet, Flamenco, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Pointe and Yoga . Children in combination classes will be required to purchase a uniform leotard (special order), pink tights, pink ballet shoes and tap shoes for the Fall session and Spanish shoes and skirt in the Spring.  The uniform is a special order item and should be purchased at this time.

Group Piano Classes (Ages 6- Adult): All Levels
Private Piano Lessons with TAMIU Student Teacher (Afes 5- Adult): All Levels
Private Piano Lessons with TAMIU Piano Professor, Dr. Fritz Getcher (by auddition only; Int- Adv Levels)

Classes begin Monday, September 1 and run through December 13, with a Winter Program on December 16.  Both group piano classes and private piano lessons will be offered, each meeting once per week. Discount provided for full semester tuition payment. It is highly recommended that students taking group classes have a well-maintained piano or good quality digital keyboard (full-sized with at least a sustaining pedal) at home on which to practice most days of the week.  It is required for students taking private lessons.

Private voice lessons with Dr. Suzanne Ramo begin Monday, September 1 and run through December 13, with a Winter Program on December 16. Class day and time TBA. Private voice lessons will be offered for ages 13 years old to adult. Ages 9-12 by audition only; it is highly recommended that younger students also play piano or violin. All lessons meet once per week. Lessons are offered in 30-min intervals (all ages) and 60-minute intervals (ages 13-up). Discount provided for full semester tuition payment.

Dr. Suzanne Ramo is a professional classical singer and teacher, who has sung with the San Francisco Opera, Philharmonia Baroque, and Austin Lyric Opera among others.  Her goal is to provide her students with a classical technique that will allow them to sing in a free and healthy manner no matter what the style. Assigned music will be appropriate to their age and technical abilities.

Dive into a whole new adventure here at TAMIU's Elementary School Camp!  The summer is a time for fun, games, exploring new things and making new friends.  During camp your child will get a chance to use their artistic abilities, practice math, writing, find new worlds through reading and science!  This year we are introducing the "Quirkles".  The "Quirkles" will help take you on a science adventure that you will never forget.  Learn Science in a whole new and exciting way!  Nowadays it pays to be safe, that's why your child will learn to be a "radKID" by the end of the camp!   "radKIDs" know what to do in case of an emergency!  The new Physical Education class also promises to be fun and help your child use hand, eye and foot coordination.  Not only will your child have fun learning and making new friends but they will also receive a TAMIU ID Card to remember the good times.

Our instructors will ensure your child develops their creativity, learns how to interact with other children and makes new friends along the way!  

Please make sure your child has a hardy breakfast in the morning as we are scheduled for lunch at noon. We will provide a snack at 3PM. Your will have the option to put money into your child's ID card, pick them up for lunch, or send them with a sack lunch.

Middle School is the transitional stage for children, transitioning from childhood to adolescence.  Middle school students have to deal with peer pressure, new teachers, new students and trying to stay afloat of their studies.  Our Middle School camp is geared towards fostering and strengthening study skills, writing, vocabulary, mathematics and focusing on their individual future.

The Writing and Vocabulary sections of the camp will be integrated to give the students a strong command of the subjects in a high energy and interactive atmosphere. Mathematics will be reviewed and strengthened to give your child a strong command of the mathematics. Pave your Future will review the whole "E.N.C.H.I.L.A.D.A." with the students! 

Please make sure your child has a hardy breakfast in the morning. A snack will be provided at 3PM. Your will have the option to put money into your child's ID card, pick them up for lunch, or send them with a sack lunch.

The goal of Texas Prefreshman Engineering Program (TexPREP) is to generate the skills and motivation necessary for low-income, first generation, traditionally underrepresented students in our region to enter and succeed in postsecondary science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) fields. TexPREP is specially designed to strengthen, enrich and increase ability in challenging subject matters and to promote interest and motivation toward the successful pursuit of STEM careers. The TexPREP Program is an intensive eight-week learning experience where students will take courses in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at Texas A&M International University. Other off-campus activities such as field trips may be scheduled the last week of the program.


General Information

  • Minors must wear closed toe shoes with straps. Depending on camp or program, crocs or similar foot wear may not be acceptable.
  • On average, student ratios are 1:10 or 1:15 depending on activity of camp or program; contact Office of Continuing Education if you would like more information regarding a specific program. The American Camp Association recommends the ratios below.
