Director

Trevor C. Liddle, MSA

Campus Office: Residential Learning Community

In July 2007 Mr. Liddle assumed leadership of Texas A&M International University’s (TAMIU) housing program.  As director, Mr. Liddle provides leadership and direction for a consolidated campus housing operation.  Responsible for the total operation of the student housing program, Mr. Liddle has successfully implemented a number of new initiatives leading to the overall growth and development of the housing program.  Mr. Liddle is primarily responsible for university relations and has conducted outreach activities and established collaborative events with other campus offices/divisions to develop campus wide relationships for the housing program.  Mr. Liddle has also served on the faculty of University College teaching the Freshman Seminar course.

 

Mr. Liddle has more than 15 years of experience in university housing and residence life operations; he has previously worked in university housing operations and residential life at Michigan State University (MSU) and The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).  Mr. Liddle has a great deal of experience working with large campus entities. Today, Mr. Liddle is member of many TAMIU committess and task forces to help ensure the best possible experience for all TAMIU students.  During his time at MSU he served in various roles being a Resident Assistant with the Academic Orientation Program, Director of Personnel for the Residence Halls Association, Director, RHA Movies, and Night Manager of Wilson Hall. In 2000 Mr. Liddle joined the UTSA campus community as the assistant director for operations for their University Housing projects.  During his seven years at UTSA Mr. Liddle served in a number of roles on university committees, events, projects and oversight boards; these include service as Chairman of the UTSA Police Advisory Board, member of the University Emergency Operations Task Force, Student Affairs Response Team, University Center Expansion Committee and a judicial affairs hearing officer. Mr. Liddle or his teams have been awarded numerous awards for customer service and achievement.  He is an active member in the Southwest Association of College & University Housing Officers and the Association of College & University Housing Officers-International. 

 

Mr. Liddle is a graduate of Michigan State University and Central Michigan University. 

 

Assistant Director for Residence Life

Mirasol Tabarez

Campus Office: University Village

In the roll of Assistant Director for Residence Life, Ms. Tabarez is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the department's student life components.  Mirasol hears all student conduct cases and works closely with the of the Office of Student Conduct and Community Engagement (SCCE) to ensure that our residential communities are places that are built on mutual respect for all.  Central to her position is our life skills programming (education out of the classroom) for our residents; Mirasol's team of resident directors (RD) and resident assistants (RA) work to provide a holistic approach to developing our residents to be independent, well-rounded members of society.

Ms. Tabarez first joined the Office of Housing & Residence Life as our staff bookkeeper and excelled in this position, restoring confidence amoung our residents that their accounts were being managed well.  This success led to her promotion to assistant director in March 2008, and the challenge to revitalize the program.  Mirasol ultimately has built a residence life program that is established in sound student development theory, fun, and respected on campus.  Ms. Tabarez is also our chief customer service agent and oversees our customer service efforts and relationships with many University offices that help the department deliver unparralled service to residents.

Originally from San Francisco, CA, Ms. Tabarez lived for 10 years in Mexico and brings a great international background to our department. She is a supporter of international education and has encouraged the efforts six (6) student staff members to pursue a study abroad experience.  Ms. Tabarez is married and has three children and two grandchildren.

 

Assistant Director for Resident Services

Luis A. Stagg

Campus Office: Residential Learning Community

As assistant director, Luis works in collaboration with other University departments and outside vendors to provide a welcoming environment which enriches the college experience for on-campus residents. Mr. Stagg directly oversees our resident services areas and drives initiatives to improve exisiting services and introduce new services that help both our students and department be more efficient. 

 

Mr. Stagg first began his career in student housing as a resident assistant.  Luis has served in various roles including Senior Resident Assistant, Marketing & Leasing Manager, and Resident Director.  Luis has a wide knowledge base in student life; as an undergraduate at TAMIU, Luis served the student body as President of the Campus Activities Board, Student Government- Senator for the College of Arts & Sciences, and also participated as an active member of additional student organizations.  Mr. Stagg was awarded the Freshman Excellence Award and Campus Activities Board- Executive Officer of the Year Award for his contributions to student life.  Mr. Stagg also received academic recognitions through the Lamar Bruni Vergara/Guillermo Benavides Z. Student Research Conference for his presentations in the area of  physical sciences.

 

Mr. Stagg is a graduate of Texas A&M International University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

 

Assistant Director for Facilities & Maintenance

Vidal Tristan

Campus Office: University Village

Mr. Vidal Tristan is responsibile for all of our physical facilities and grounds.  In his position, Vidal works to maintain the residences so that they are "points of pride" on our campus.  Mr. Tristan leads a group of dedicated maintenance technicians, painters, housekeepers and grounds crew to deliver service to our residents. Under Mr. Tristan's leadership our facilities have been praised by TAMIU safety and risk management and the State Fire Marshal's offices as well maintained, compliant, and responsive. During Vidal's tenure we have developed a program for student employment, our student maintenance and hospitality host programs provide employment opportunities for our residents.  The dedication and pride of our student employees have enabled us to accomplish goals once thought impossible and over the years has helped hundreds of student achieve their academic goals.

Vidal was born and raised in Laredo and previously worked in housing maintenance on the campus of Texas State University-San Marcos.  Vidal is married and has three children.

 

Resident Director - Operations

Wendy L. Chacon

Campus Office: Residential Learning Community

Wendy L. Chacon is one of two resdient director for the Office of Housing & Residence Life.  Wendy supports 8 resident assistants and their respective halls/houses to ensure that our programming philosophy and support structures are working effectively.  Wendy originally joined the housing team in 2009 as an office assistant working our front desks so our residents would see a friendly and familiar face.  As she built amazing relationships at the desk, Wendy was tapped to become a resident assistant and a key player in the overall development of our residence life functions.

In her current role, Ms. Chacon oversees our residence life and business office functions ensuring that the information that we provide residents is timely and accurate.  A critical component of our life skills programming is make sure that students understand their financial responsibilities when it comes to housing and food services and that students need to be active participants in the process.  Wendy has spearheaded several customer service initiatives to help our residents grow and understand the responsibilities of adulthood.  Ms. Chacon can regularly be seen working late meeting with residents and attending RA programs.

Ms. Chacon is a graduate of Texas A&M International University with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish.
