2011-12 Leadership TAMIU Cohort                TAMIU Students at Leadership TAMIU Retreat

Leadership TAMIU

Launched in 2009, Leadership TAMIU started as a program to help launch students to the next level. Over the short period of existence, the program has now become a year-long commitment and has included speakers from around the country and world. This leadership program is for students in their junior and senior years at TAMIU that are ready to take the next step in developing their leadership skills as they prepare for the future. Leadership TAMIU will give you the opportunity to listen to proven leaders in various fields that will teach you the principles of communication, ethics, teamwork, service learning and engagement, time management, and goal-setting. During the first half of the class, the focus is the individual student as we ask them to explore themselves, using The Leadership Challenge as our text and a jumping off point for discussions. During the second half, we leverage existing partnerships to invite speakers to share their experiences with our students.

Students in this program are expected to attend an orientation meeting in order to understand what the program entails. In addition, graduates of the program will receive a special certificate that certifies them as members of this prestigious program at Texas A&M International University.
