Madrid Summer Program

Faculty Leader: Dr. Diana Linn

Program Dates: May 25 - June 28, 2014

Program Information

The College of Education will offer a five week study abroad program in Madrid, Spain.  Courses will be taught by Dr. Linn and will focus on academic instruction and interaction with human diversity and disabilities. The location of Spain will provide cultural awareness and give students an opportunity to connect with their heritage.  As such, students will develop into culturally responsive educators.

While in Madrid, students will have a combination of lectures, cultural excursions, and visits to classrooms where they will meet with educators and teach lessons.  Field excursions may include visits to El Museo del Traje, El Rastro, Casa de Campo, Parque del Oeste, flamenco lessons, and cultural sites of Barcelona.  Included in the program estimated cost of $2750 are all scheduled program activities, housing, transportation, admissions fees and guide fee, insurance, and a 50 € cultural fund.
