Purchase of the inscribed bricks is great way for students, organizations, parents, alumni, and community supporters to be part of a permanent tribute that supports TAMIU. “We see theUniversity as a forum for discussion and learning and we wanted to help make that possible. We realize that as an international university, TAMIU is a natural setting for these important discussions.” -- Ninfa Cantú Deandar, El Mañana In October, El Mañana hosted a visiting lecture by Tatiana Clouthier, the campaign manager for the successful campaign of México’s incoming President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador. “I’ve always been intrigued by the science of black holes andwanted to be able tomake possible a special lecture by an esteemed scientist right here at TAMIU.” -- Guillermo Benavides Z. In September, Dr. Eva Noyola, of The University of Texas at Austin’s department of Astronomy and the famed McDonald Observatory, lectured on “ How Do We Observe Black Holes” at the TAMIU Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Theatre. 29
