Wright Arek Zambanini ’10 Georgina Zamudio ’09 *Denotes deceased ALUMNI SPOTLIGHTS Gabriel Rodríguez (’12) Gabriel Rodríguez has been appointed Assistant Section Chief at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. “With my college education and substantial experience in the military, private sector, and federal government, I was offered a position with the FBI in Virginia. In my eight years in the FBI, I have been promoted several times and have served in various leadership positions. Next year, I will celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary with my high school sweetheart and am a happy father to my three children,” said Rodríguez. Christian Benavides (’06) Alumnus Christian Benavides is Regional Administrator for the Office of the Governor for the South Texas region. He works with the child sex trafficking prevention team and is one of five regional state administrators. His duties include monitoring grant recipients, facilitating training with law enforcement and medical professionals, overseeing 33 counties, and working with Dr. Frances Bernat, TAMIU Regents Professor of Criminal Justice via the Trafficking Emergency Network (see p. 21 for more on this). Alberto A. Flores (’95) Alberto A. Flores is Port Director for Laredo Port of Entry. He’s a Laredo native and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at TAMIU. “’I look forward to working together with both long established and new partners to ensure we do as much as we can to utilize the latest technology and innovation to facilitate lawful trade and travel while keeping an ever-watchful eye on our border security mission,” said Flores.
