Advanced Health Assessment
Four semester hours, two theory, six clinical.
This course explores the method of collecting a comprehensive database, including complete functional assessment, health history, and physical examination for patients of all ages and in all phases of individual and family life style. Students will learn key symptom-focused physical exams. Emphasis is on concise communication of findings maintaining privacy and meeting legal standards of documentation. Students will begin formulating differential diagnoses after interpreting the collected data. The clinical portion offers the opportunity to perform and interpret assessments on patients. Prerequisite: Admission to the MSN Program or permission of faculty.
