NURS 5334
Diagnostic Reasoning and Clinical Procedures
Three semester hours.
This course presents the student with selected clinical diagnostic laboratory, imaging tests and with selected procedures practiced by advanced nurse practitioner in the primary care setting. Clinical decision-making for appropriate tests or procedures, and interpretation of diagnostic test results is addressed. Laboratory, simulation and practicum experiences will facilitate learning of procedures such as suturing, EKG interpretation, dermatologic procedures and radiology. This course is a one credit theory and two credit or 90 hours of practicum required. Prerequisite: NURS 5332 and NURS 5333.
