Dean's Message JAMES O' MEARA, ED.D. Today, we recognize you as one of our outstanding graduates who has achieved success in the face of uncertainty. Today I challenge you to "Go Beyond" and be the change-makers we need to make a world of difference in your schools and the communities they serve. ¡Lo que bien se aprende, nunca se pierde! Most of you have heard me talk about you as professionals RISE-ing. Tonight I want to remind you that in the College of Education we know that we rise by lifting others. Each of you have had someone who has given you a hand up when you most need it. I invite you to share your Pi n of Grat i t ude wi t h t hat speci al person. If possible, please do so prior to Commencement so they may wear it during your Commencement ceremony. You may know that in the College of Education, to RISEhas a speci al meani ng. Graduates, as you move into the next phase of your life they will be times of joy and times of fear. In those time when come face to face with FEAR. Remember, you always have two choices: you can face everything and run or face everything and RISE.
