2020-2021 ANNUAL REPORT - 24 T he eLearning team has been a sub- scriber to the Quality Matters program since 2011. At the time, no one could have predicted the importance of Distance Education to every University’s continuing functionality this past year- and yet TAMIU has been distinguished as one of the leaders in online education of Texas for many years prior. It shows our University’s commitment to provide the best education to all of our Dustdevils. The 200th course certified was Data Mining and Business Analytics taught by Dr. Vanessa G. Clark, on behalf of the A.R. Sanchez, Jr. 200QM-Certified Courses! Early in the New Year, TAMIU’s eLearning team celebrated reaching a historical 200 QM-certified courses. In a period where e d u c a t i o n h a s b e e n mo s t l y t a u g h t remotely, this signifies the dedication our University has to equipping students with the best quality online courses. I highly encourage TAMIU faculty to design QM online courses. it may seem overwhelm- ing at the beginning, however, with the QM developmental work- shops, OIT trainings, and their guidance through the process, it makes it so much easier and a very positive experience. (Dr. Melissa García) When I initially learned that the only way that I could continue teaching my beloved graduate courses was to move the courses 100%online, requiring both Quality Matters review and cer- tification, during 2020 distancing, I’ve come to value our virtual time more than ever. (Dr. Tonya Huber) QMmakes my class very well organized, and I feel [more] in control. Congratulations TAMIU. (Dr. Peter Haruna) Thank you, eLearning for all you do to our campus community, and here’s to the next 100 QM- certified courses. (Dr. Jared Dmello) School of Business.
