Summer Assistance for 2024

Federal Pell Grant (is available to students pursuing their first bachelor’s degree):

  • Undergraduate students enrolled for at least six (6) hours and a 2023-2024 EFC of less than 5901.
  • Undergraduate students enrolled for less than (6) hours with a 2023-2024 EFC of less than 4401, and who did not use their full Pell Grant allocation during fall 2023 and spring 2024.
  • Undergraduate students enrolled for less than (6) hours and who used their full Pell Grant allocation during fall 2023 and spring 2024, must have a complete 2024-2025 file and SAI of less than 6655 to qualify

Federal SEOG Grant (up to $250):
Undergraduate students who qualify for the Federal Pell Grant and have the greatest need based on EFC based on their 2023-2024 FAFSA. Limited Funding.

Getting Ahead Scholarship (up to $500):
Undergraduate Students, eligibility based on funding, 3.0 GPA, and enrollment. Priority is given to those students enrolled for at least nine (9) hours. Limited Funding

TPEG Dusty Grant (up to $500):
Undergraduate Texas residents who demonstrate financial aid need with TASFA application. Limited funding.

Texas Grant:
For current eligible TEXAS grant recipients, that enroll in 9 or more hours. Cancellation of the full grant will occur when the student drops below 9 hours. Limited funding.

Work-study Employment:
Must enroll at least 3 hours in one of the summer sessions to continue employment. Must meet other elgibility requirements.

Federal Direct Loans (leftover from annual limit not borrowed during fall and spring)

  • Undergraduate students must enroll for at least six (6) hours.
  • Graduate students must enroll for at least three (3) hours.

Federal Graduate PLUS Loans:
Graduate students need to apply Application for Direct Plus Loans

Federal Parent PLUS Loans:
Parents of dependent students need to apply at Direct Plus Loan Application.

College Access Loans:
Available for Texas resident students. Apply at www.hhloans.com.

Emergency Loans:
The Bursar’s Office will be offering emergency loans for tuition & fees as well as for books.

Alternative Private Loans:

NOTE: To be eligible students must meet our Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy and be degree-seeking.
