Calling all career seekers! Impending college graduates are invited to log-in and attend the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Spring 2021 All Majors Fair happening virtually Tuesday, March 9 from 12 - 4 p.m.

Prospective attendees are required to register to attend the event. Registration is available at tamiu.joinhandshake.com.

Over 20 employers will be in attendance representing higher education, school districts, government agencies, retail service, tech, logistics, health and wellness, leisure and hospitality and other industries.

After registering for the Virtual Career Fair, attendees will be able to craft their personalized schedule by setting-up 30-minute group sessions or one-on-one appointments with attending employers. Individuals are encouraged to check weekly for appointment availability and create these schedules in advance.

Throughout the event, career seekers will be able to network and engage with prospective employers through video, audio and chat messaging. During group sessions, employers will share more about their organizations and what opportunities they have available for full-time, part-time and internships.

“Virtual career fairs are a convenient and easy way to network with employers and secure unique opportunities from the comfort of your device. Attending is simple, and the potential rewards are worthwhile. Chatting with recruiters online gives you a certain freedom to research in advance and prepare important questions and responses,” explained Yelitza Howard, TAMIU Career Services director.

“We remind students that conversations at virtual career fairs are less about personal chemistry and are more focused on your skills, experience and achievements.  Profiles for each of the companies attending can be browsed in advance, along with the vacancies they have available. This is a relatively innovative way to meet and connect with prospective organizations who have opportunities after graduation, both in and outside of Laredo,” said Howard.

Employers in attendance include ORACLE, the Texas Department of Family Protective Services, The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston – School of Biomedical Informatics, Laredo ISD, Texas Tech University Health Science Center El Paso, GEO Group, Bard College Globalization and International Affairs Program, CareSource, Clear Creek ISD, Egg Strategy, Enterprise Holdings (Enterprise, National & Alamo Car Rentals), HCA-North Texas, Jeffco Public Schools Colorado, Kilgore ISD and more.

TAMIU’s Career Services offers a range of services, that includes creating resumes and cover letters, practicing interviewing skills and access to Dusty Works. Services are available to students, parents, alumni, job recruiters, and University faculty and staff members.
