Page 12 of 92 Section 3.07 Attendance Policy A vital part of every student’s education is regular attendance of class meetings. Every faculty member keeps a current attendance record on all students. Absences may affect the quality of a student’s work and grades. To learn more about the Attendance Rule and specific excused absences, read Appendix A. Section 3.08 Student Leave of Absence The Student Leave of Absence (LOA) rule assists and encourages students to return and graduate after an absence from TAMIU. Eligible students are encouraged to take advantage of the benefits provided by a LOA, e.g., a returning student need not apply for readmission to the University and may participate in their regularly scheduled registration/enrollment period upon return.
