Staggs Academy offers students a high school experience while advancing their college education at Texas A&M International University. With supportive staff and strong admiration, Staggs offers small cohort advantage and one-on-one advising. Our high school consist of a two-year program with up to 60 SCH of college coursework.
Eligibility
- Be a Texas Resident
- 10th-grade high school student with at least 13 credits toward Texas high school graduation plan.
- Attempt TSIA in Reading/ Writing and Math
- Minimum high school GPA of 85 or 3.0
Easy Steps to Become a Staggs Scholar
- Step 1: Complete the application (Available January 1st)
- Step 2: Submit your official high school transcript with GPA/Rank.
- Step 3: Submit PSAT 10 Score Report.
- Step 4: Submit TSIA Scores.
- Step 5: Submit Student Checklist (form provided)
- Step 6: Two letters of Recommendation from two different teachers.
- Optional: for holistic review, a student interview will be conducted.

Staggs Early Scholar High School Pathway
Staggs Academy in collaboration with TAMIU's Concurrent Enrollment program provides students the opportunity to earn college credit as a freshman and sophomore in high school at a reduced tuition rate.
