A&M International Schedules SAT Preparation Class

Texas A&M International University's Office of Continuing Education will offer a "SAT Preparation" class on Saturdays beginning Oct. 4 at the University's main campus, 5201 University Boulevard.

The SAT Preparation class is ideal for high school students and others who need to take the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) for admission into institutions of higher learning.

The class will meet Saturdays on the following dates and times: Oct. 4, 3 - 6 p.m.; Oct. 11, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.; Oct. 18, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.; Oct. 25, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.; Nov. 1, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.; Nov. 8, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.; Nov. 15, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., and Nov. 22, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 3 - 6 p.m.

Tuition is $60.

A computerized exam-interactive study program designed to provide students with samples, advice, and techniques to achieve maximum performance on the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) will be used for the class.

Different solution techniques, the use of graphic calculators, and a review of mathematics problems are among the topics to be covered in the class.

SAT scores are required for admission into many colleges and universities. A&M International requires SAT or ACT (American College Testing) scores for entering freshman and applicants who have completed less than 30 semester credit hours of transferable college credit.

Interested persons may register for the course in the University's Office of Continuing Education located in the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library-Administration Building room 332 West.
