TAMIU Hosts Jazz Fest 2010 April 20

No need to go to your nearest speakeasy to hear some cool cats jam. Just head on over to the Texas A&M International University Jazz Fest Tuesday, April 20 at the TAMIU Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall.

Admission is free and open to the public.

School group performances are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.

The TAMIU Jazz Big Band, under the direction of Dr. García, will perform at 7:30 p.m.

“Bands from United Independent School District and Laredo I.S.D., as well as the TAMIU Jazz Big Band will perform at half-hour intervals,” said Dr. David M. Garcia, TAMIU director of bands.

Featured guest groups include: the Vidal M. Treviño Guitar Combo, United High School Vocal Jazz, Cigarroa High School Jazz Ensemble, United High School Jazz Ensemble, LBJ High School, and United High School Jazz Ensemble.
