Update (6/27/2013, 5:24 p.m.) This event is postponed and will be rescheduled. Contact the SBDC for updates.

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) and Senator Judith Zaffirini will host a Laredo Eagle Ford Shale Economic Impact Forum Tuesday, July 2 from 10 a.m. – noon in the TAMIU Western Hemispheric Trade Center, room 111.

Admission is free and open to the public.

The Forum will examine the University of Texas at San Antonio’s Eagle Ford Shale Oil and Gas Impact Study and benefit to the Laredo economy.

Participants will receive a free copy of the UTSA study. In the study, scholars reveal their results of a study of the region’s 14 oil and natural gas-producing counties and the six surrounding counties which serve as staging areas for the oil and gas play.

TAMIU hosted the first Eagle Ford Shale Stakeholders Summit in October 2012. Participants had an opportunity to engage key academics, educators, economists and industry experts alongside regional and state leaders and stakeholders to discuss the benefits and the challenges the Eagle Ford Shale development represents.
