TAMIU Ranks #10 Among 2020’s Top Public Universities in Texas
Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) ranks #10 among 2020’s Top Public Universities in Texas, according to a newly released ranking by online source, Niche.com
The ranking is based on rigorous analysis of academic, admissions, financial, and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education along with millions of reviews from students and alumni, the site states. It compares over 500 public colleges and state universities.
TAMIU President Dr. Pablo Arenaz said that the ranking strongly affirms the University’s mission, role and value to its students.
“TAMIU’s placement in the Top Public Universities list in Texas is most impressive and attests to our commitment to affordability, program excellence, and student success,” Dr. Arenaz said, “While we now navigate a future much changed by the global COVID-19 Pandemic, this ranking once again affirms our commitment to our TAMIU community and community at large.”
He noted TAMIU students will finish this Spring Semester using TAMIU’s Virtual Classroom beginning Monday, March 30.
“TAMIU faculty and staff are eager to welcome our students back in our Virtual Environment. During this time of great challenge, we are truly ‘TAMIU Together,’ ” Dr. Arenaz concluded.
Joining TAMIU in the Top Public Universities in Texas ranking are The University of Texas-Austin, Texas A&M University, University of Texas at Dallas, Texas Tech University, University of Houston, University of North Texas, Texas State University, University of Texas-Arlington, and West Texas A&M University.

Factors considered for the ranking include the University’s academics, value, professors, campus, diversity, student life, student surveys on overall experience, local area and safety, Niche states. Grades are assigned based on how each school performs compared to all other schools included in the ranking by using a distribution of grades and scores.
Statistics obtained from the U.S. Department of Education represent the most recent data available, as self-reported by the colleges, the site states. Niche also collects data directly from schools via its school data update form.
