TAMIU Offers Curative Testing, on Campus; Open to All
Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) is now home to a CURATIVE COVID-19 Testing Kiosk on campus, located in the breezeway between Anthony J. and Georgia A. Pellegrino Hall and Dr. F. M. Canseco Hall.
TAMIU has entered into a partnership with CURATIVE for COVID-19 Testing on campus with testing now offered every week, Monday - Thursday from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Effective the week of June 21, all CURATIVE kiosk testing will be collected via shallow nasal swab instead of oral testing. Shallow nasal testing is still a PCR test and all results will continue to be available from 24-48 hours after collection. The TAMIU testing site will be closed Friday, June 25 and regular testing hours will resume Monday, June 28.
The free testing is open to all members of the University community: students, faculty and staff -- and the community at large.
TAMIU president Dr. Pablo Arenaz noted the initiative expands on the University’s existing COVID-19 Response.
“We’ve been providing COVID-19 Testing on Campus since August of 2020 with a cumulative total of 7225+ tests conducted in multiple weekly testing opportunities. Having the Curative COVID-19 Testing Kiosk on campus expands on that capability by providing daily access to testing for all members of our University community… and the community at large. Having this opportunity in place throughout the summer and leading into our Fall full return to campus provides an additional measure of safety and wellness for all,” Dr. Arenaz said.
