As Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) gears up for its return to a full and vibrant on-campus Fall experience, it has launched a helpful suite of dedicated web hubs and redesigned its main web experience.

TAMIU president Dr. Pablo Arenaz said the initiatives strengthen the University’s ability to provide students and their families with fingertip access to informative resources and services.

“Our main web site has long been our most successful communication tool, seeing some 2,190,189 sessions over the past 12 months alone. To continue to make that user experience as meaningful as possible, we’ve redesigned tamiu.edu and launched a series of focused web hubs that provide specific information on benefits, programs or special initiatives students and their families should explore,” Dr. Arenaz said.

The main site, tamiu.edu, prominently features exploration opportunities providing insight about degrees and the student experience, while also showcasing the diversity-focused campus. An icon-driven approach makes navigation more intuitive while a social media aggregator offers a glimpse at in-the-moment campus life.  An action bar takes visitors to the next steps in information requests, application, contact and enrollment.

Other dedicated TAMIU web hubs focus on student experiences such as degree exploration, registration, special campus programs and TAMIU news.

The Future Dustdevil Hub, go.tamiu.edu/dustdevilhub, provides a full range of digital resources for TAMIU students, parents and high school counselors.  It offers guidance and information focused on actionable steps. It provides an interactive viewbook, Counselor’s Interactive Guide and detailed College and School digital brochures, and an expedited link to local and regional TAMIU representatives.

The Registration Hub, tamiu.edu/reghub, offers insight into Registration with content, guides and resources specific to undergraduate and graduate students and was designed in concert with both undergraduate and graduate advisors to shine a light on the registration process by developing awareness, addressing issues like advising and holds, and including a dynamic FAQ with answers and contacts.

TAMIU Books IncludED, tamiu.edu/books-included, details the University’s new Fall pilot program that provides all degree-seeking students with textbooks and course materials free of charge.  It details the process graphically and includes a detailed FAQ.

TAMIU Be A Champ, go.tamiu.edu/beachamp, shares the University’s participation in the National College COVID-19 College Vaccine Challenge.  Participating students can enter into multiple drawings held throughout the semester that offer prizes including free tuition, Dusty Dollars and Starbucks Gift Cards.

Finally, the TAMIU News Hub, go.tamiu.edu/newshub brings together all of the University’s news and information resources in a central hub.  Included is current campus news with focused news channels, an active calendar, social media aggregator, links to specialty information and archives, the week’s edition of the Trailblazer, the University’s online news bulletin, and links to the annual President’s Report and official social media channels.

“Individually and in unison, these web-based tools can provide students and their families with a broad range of information and resources that can help them explore their higher education options here,” Dr. Arenaz concluded.

The sites were designed by the University’s Office of Public Relations, Marketing and Information Services in cooperation with various TAMIU student-serving offices and departments.
