TAMIU Annual Report 2021 Gives Witness to Resilience

TAMIU Annual Report 2021
The Annual Report, 2021

Digital and print versions of the 2021 edition of Texas A&M International University’s (TAMIU) Annual Report are now available and shared on its social media channels.

This year’s Annual Report documents the continued commitment and resilience of its students, faculty, staff, and alumni, said TAMIU president Dr. Pablo Arenaz.

“This has clearly been another year of unparalleled challenges,” Dr. Arenaz said, “our story is steeped in resilience and it is this collective resilience that has enabled us to sustain enrollment, maintain our student-focused mission, launch new programs and outreach, earn national accolades, and continue to extend our 50-plus year legacy,” Dr. Arenaz observed.

The award-winning publication looks at the past year of student, faculty, alumni, staff, and community accomplishments -- as well as the kindness and generosity of the University’s donors and partners.

Among Report highlights is insight on the remarkable support provided by the 87th Session of the Texas Legislature, renewal of a long-cherished agreement between TAMIU and Laredo College, expanding degree opportunities, including the University’s second Ph.D. program in Criminal Justice, and mission-affirming gifts from the Killam Family Foundation and the Rio-South Texas Education and Community Development Foundation.

Also included is information on a historic National Institutes of Health research grant, faculty and student research collaborations, the profound impact of TAMIU CARES student grants, and dedicated student outreach efforts aimed at beautifying Laredo, advancing literacy, and sharing the bountiful harvest of the TAMIU Community Garden.

TAMIU has augmented its traditional print Annual Report edition with a digital publication since 2012.  The online version replicates the look and feel of the print version, complete with pages that “flip” and are responsive across devices. The online version also features hyperlinks to expanded content, including galleries and videos.
