TAMIU SBDC Offers Small Business Management Program for Entrepreneurs

Texas A&M International University's Small Business Development Center (TAMIU SBDC) will offer a Small Business Management Program (SBMP) for those interested in becoming small business entrepreneurs.

Online and in-person courses will be offered from Tuesday, Oct. 4  - Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022.  The deadline to register for the Program is Monday, Oct. 3. The cost to participate is $200.

Participants are required to attend 10 classes, complete the Program within an active cohort, and complete one online training module. Courses are available in-person and online via Cisco Webex. 

Norma Rodríguez, TAMIU SBDC director, said she encourages aspiring and current small business owners to participate in the SBMP program. 

"As a business owner, investing in your personal growth is vital, and continuing your education is one of the best ways to propel your company forward," Rodríguez said, "Learning a new, in-demand skill or technology is an investment in your future, and the future of your business." 

The SBMP helps participants enhance their management skills and provides networking opportunities for cohort members. In addition, participants receive a one-to-one professional advising to assist them with the start-up or expansion process of their potential or existing business.

Participants will also have access to financial, market and demographic research reports customized to their industry and geographic location. 

Morning classes are conducted from 9 - 11 a.m. and evening classes are available from 6 - 8 p.m. 

Classes include: The Art of Starting a Business, Anatomy of a Business Plan, Managing Cash Flow, Show Me the Money, Business Innovation, Small Business Tax Strategies, Building Your Personal and Business Financial Game Plan, Human Resources Policies and Issues, Branding and Digital Media Marketing Basicsand Legal Issues for Entrepreneurs.
