Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Dustdevil Athletics will host its “Pink Out,” a Breast Cancer Awareness event, this Saturday, January 28 during its Women's and Men's basketball games at 1 and 3 p.m.   TAMIU teams will play St. Edward’s University.

The public is invited to attend and participate in honoring those impacted by cancer, organizers said. TAMIU encourages attendees to wear as much pink as possible to the games in support. Regular game admission cost is $5 for those over the age of 18.   Free entry is granted to TAMIU students, faculty and staff with University ID.

“We encourage anybody who has survived the words, ‘you have cancer’ to attend the games that day so that they can be honored,” said Tracie Vogel, TAMIU Athletics associate athletics director, external operations, “We are also asking for names of those in our community who are either fighting this disease, can celebrate surviving, or those who have lost their battle. We’ll display these names at the game and read them in recognition at halftime for both games. Those being honored will also receive free admission to the games and a Dustdevil T-shirt,” Vogel added.

Names of individuals that family or friends would like recognized during the games can be submitted online here.
