Texas A&M International University's (TAMIU) Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program is recognized among the Top FNP programs in Texas, according to online source All Nurses.

All Nurses gave TAMIU's FNP program a score of 100 and listed it among leading Texas universities such as Baylor University, Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas State University, and Texas Women's University.

The selection of the nursing schools is based on a comprehensive methodology that includes direct reader feedback, in-depth data analysis and continuous updates to ensure accuracy and relevance, All Nurses states. The site incorporates a wide array of criteria to reflect what its readers and the broader community value most in nursing education, including reader surveys, graduation rates, student-faculty ratio, cost of attendance, mode of delivery, and admission rates. Its comprehensive methodology can be found here.

Dr. Marivic Torregosa, TAMIU Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, said this acknowledgement affirms the TAMIU College of Nursing and Health Sciences' commitment to imparting excellence in nursing education.

"We are honored to be recognized among the Top FNP programs in Texas," Dr. Torregosa said, "This is a testament to our faculty's dedication in preparing students for dynamic and impactful careers in health care and our students' commitment to working towards excellence."

The Online FNP program at TAMIU offers students the flexibility of online learning combined with valuable in-person learning opportunities to be able to diagnose and manage common, acute and chronic health conditions across the lifespan. Its curriculum emphasizes evidence-based practice, health promotion and disease prevention, empowering students to make a lasting impact on the health, and well-being of their patients and communities.

Through a blend of online coursework and on-campus experiences, students have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty and peers, honing their clinical skills and building professional networks.

The TAMIU Online FNP program can be completed in 2 ½ years or 3 years, depending on the semester of program entry. Complete admission requirements are available here.

Torregosa encouraged nurses to explore their opportunities for professional growth with TAMIU.

“We are aware that the present shortage of primary care physicians will increase demand for FNPs. FNPs are here to address and fill that huge gap. Other growth opportunities are also available, and we enjoy helping nurses to explore them,” she concluded.
