USTA Tournament Scheduled at City of Laredo Tennis Complex at TAMIU

Competitive tennis action was in full swing at the City of Laredo Tennis Complex at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU).
From October 17 – 19, the City of Laredo hosted a United States Tennis Association (USTA) Level 4 Open Tournament, the Adult Laredo Slam. Tournament information is available here. The Complex was closed for the three days of Tournament play. The Complex hosted the University Interscholastic League Team Tennis 2025 6A Playoffs on Tuesday.
The USTA has named the Tennis Complex one of 45 winners in its annual Outstanding Facility Awards program recognizing excellence in the construction or renovation of tennis facilities throughout the country.
The City of Laredo Tennis Complex at TAMIU is an 18-court project that grew from joint efforts by the City of Laredo, Parks and Recreation Department, TAMIU Athletics Department, LTA, and the USTA. Opened in January this year, the state-of-the-art facility includes six National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) collegiate-level courts and 12 USTA recreational-level courts, constructed using post-tensioned concrete and including sports lighting, fencing, bleachers, and necessary equipment.
The Complex courts meet the latest guidelines provided by the USTA and the collegiate-level courts adhere to all current NCAA, International Tennis Federation (ITF), and USTA rules. The recreational courts feature 36- and 60-foot blended line layouts, providing greater opportunities for all age groups. The Tennis Complex includes multi-purpose areas, home/visitor locker rooms, concessions, a training room, and a second-story observation terrace, which serves as a viewing area and gathering space.
