deer icon U Are ‘Dear’ to Us!
A misty Fall morning offers the promise of deer softly strolling underneath the oak trees found outside the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library. In the quiet stillness, there is peace. In this fleeting moment, the stillness is soon replaced by the hums and clamors of campus life.
Ever aware of their presence, our students protect and care for our deer, making sure to respect their space. Together, we share a home – a place where our students flourish and grow.
In celebration of our students, join us at our newest signature event. Dubbed, ‘U Are Dear to Us,’ we invite our campus community to join us in a social gathering where we will share branded, commemorative deer figures.

Office of Compliance
Deer to Us, Dear to the World
A poem by the Office of Compliance
Like a deer, so graceful, in need of care,
Our students, dear to us, we nurture and prepare.
With guidance, support, and protection they thrive,
In a safe, strong environment, they come alive.
Through lessons on consent and healthy ways,
We teach them to stand, to speak, to raise,
A voice for what’s right, to intervene,
Building a future where respect is seen.
Our work empowers them, day by day,
To impact the world in a meaningful way.
Together we grow, together we rise,
Creating a legacy where safety lies.
