Requirements
Apply for transfer admission if you have already started your post-secondary studies at another college or university after graduating from high school or earning a GED.
Transfer students, students with over 24 college credit hours, who have previously attended an accredited institution and are seeking admission to TAMIU must:
- Submit application via ApplyTexas: No application fee. No personal statement. No essay required.
- Submit an official transcript from any college/university attended.
- Demonstrate a minimum grade point average of 2.0.
Note: Additional requirements exist for the School of Nursing and for Teacher Education Programs and Music.
Transfer Freshmen students, students with less than 24 college credit hours, who have previously attended an accredited institution and are seeking admission to TAMIU, must:
- Submit application via ApplyTexas: No application fee. No personal statement. No essay required.
- Submit official high school transcript.
- Submit ACT (Code: 4215) and/or SAT (Code: 0359) scores.
- Submit official college transcript for all coursework taken while in high school (if applicable).
- Demonstrate a minimum grade point average of 2.0.
Applicants who have earned a high school diploma and have less than 24 college credit hours are considered Transfer Freshmen applicants. Admissions score minimums are based according to class rank:
