  • February 2020 - International Visitors Delegation

On February 22 a delegation of diplomats from Latin American and European countries visited The Office of Global Initatives / TAMIU . Maria Eugenia Calderón-Porter, Assistant VP for Global Initiatives gave the dignitaries a presentation on the binational community of Laredo, Texas and its importance as the world’s largest inland port.

  • March 11, 2020 - Hamdan Bin Rashid Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance Visit

The Office of Global Initiatives, the College of Education, and President Dr. Pablo Arenaz met with Dr. Khalifa A. Al Suwaidi, representative of Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance from Dubai, United Arab Emirates to discuss possible new projects.

  • October - November 2020 - Comparative Criminology Seminar

The Office of Global Initiatives together with the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León  (U.A.N.L.) held a comparative criminology seminar for law and criminology students of the U.A.N.L.  The presenters included local and regional practitioners from the District Attorney's Office, the Municipal Court, as well as the Laredo Police Department.

The TAMIU Office of Global Initiatives with the Reyes Meza Museum of Nuevo Laredo celebrates the Day of the Dead, “Día de Muertos”, tradition by inviting local and regional artists to participate in the exhibit titled “La Muerte Desmitificada 9”. The artists have full creative freedom to express their ideas and feelings into a work of art to represent the demystification of death. To visit the virtual gallery:
