Summer 2024
The TAMIU ARC will support a Summer Faculty Development Program. This effort will develop a rich milieu where faculty upon returning from their summer development experience will be able to enrich their research and teaching at the graduate level. The Summer Faculty Development Program will provide up to seven weeks of summer support of travel and living expenses. Applications for short-duration workshops (minimum one week) that can have a high impact on research will be considered as will visiting other institutions to conduct research for a longer duration up to a maximum of seven weeks. Total funding exists to provide travel support for a faculty member for up to seven weeks. Given last year’s restrictions we have money to fund fully two requests. Note that this program does provide both travel and summer salary support.
APPLICATION INFORMATION
To apply please click on the following application form, which is due MARCH 8TH. E-mail completed form to ktobin@tamiu.edu. To be eligible you must be a tenured or tenure-track faculty member with at least two years of service at TAMIU by the end of the Spring 2024 Semester. An ad hoc faculty committee will be established to evaluate applications and make a recommendation to the TAMIU ARC Leadership team who will make the final decision. Preference will be given for disciplines within the TAMIU ARC First Year Graduate Success Program (Communications, Criminal Justice, Mathematics, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology) and Biology. However, any eligible TAMIU faculty members can apply.
The selection(s) will be announced no later than April to allow sufficient time to make travel arrangements for the summer.
