Theatre

TAMIU’s Department of Fine and Performing Arts offers a minor in Theatre Arts. The minor consists of 18 hours (6 at the 1000-2000 level, and 12 at the 3000-4000 level) in theatre. TAMIU theatre courses focus on acting, directing, and playwriting.

TAMIU Theatre students also are offered the opportunity to act in main stage shows, while theatre minors are also allowed to direct full length shows or write full length plays as part of their course of study. Theatre students have access to and work in the Sam Johnson Experimental Black Box theater as well as the Fine and Performing Arts Main Stage.

Full productions are produced every semester offering students of theatre many opportunities to work and gain experience in a variety of theatre roles. Students may also join and be part of Alpha Psi Omega Theatre Honor Society here at TAMIU’s Alpha Theta Rho chapter.
