TAMIU Welcome Back Week Celebrates Return to Classes

As students at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) make their return for the Spring 2023 semester, a full schedule of activities will welcome them back to campus.

Hosted by the Office of Student Orientation, Leadership, and Engagement, Campus Activities Board, the Student Government Association and TAMIU offices. The 1920s-themed festivities include film screenings, archery, laser tag, student fairs, dance classes and more.

Events are scheduled to begin the first day of the Spring semester, Tuesday, Jan. 17 through Friday, Jan. 20. All events are free and open to currently enrolled University students.

Welcome Back Week scheduled events are as follows:

Tuesday, Jan. 17 – Prohibition Tacos, 10 – 11 a.m., Breezeway; A CABulous Return, 11 a.m. – noon, Breezeway; Resource and Service Fair, noon – 2 p.m., Student Center Rotunda; and Archery, 5 – 6 p.m. REC Court.

Wednesday, Jan. 18 – Political Cup Pong, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Student Center Rotunda; Bystander Training, 1 – 2 p.m., Student Center 225; Yoga Class, 5 – 6 p.m., REC 205; and Gatsby Movie Night, 6 – 9 p.m., Student Center Ballroom.

Thursday, Jan. 19 – Vaccine Drive, 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Student Center Rotunda; Student Organization Fair, noon – 2 p.m., Lamar Bruni Vergara Memorial Garden; Welcome Totes, noon – 2 p.m., Student Center Courtyard; Laser Tag, 5 – 6 p.m., REC Court; and Lunar New Year, 4 – 6 p.m. Western Hemispheric Trade Center 111.

Friday, Jan. 20 – Greek Showcase, 4 – 6 p.m., Kinesiology-Convocation Building Green; Dance Class, 5 – 6 p.m., REC 226; CABsino, 6 – 8:30 p.m., Student Center Ballroom, and the Great CABsy, 9 – 11 p.m., Student Center Ballroom.
