While the start of the Fall Semester is still two months away, Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) is launching a series of Summer events to help incoming students engage with the University, resolve any pending items…and have fun on campus.

The first offering, “Dusty’s Round-Up,” is scheduled Wednesday evening, June 21, from 6 – 8 p.m. in and around the Senator Judith Zaffirini Student Success Center (ZSC), said Mirian Granados, director, TAMIU Recruitment and School Relations.

“This is a fun event that helps to ensure that our incoming students are all set for the start of the Fall semester Monday, Aug. 28.  Our specialists will staff an Information Fair and help students complete any unfinished business in the ZSC lobby.  Outdoors, we’ll have activities, food, games, inflatables, and more to help our students celebrate the summer,” Granados explained.

Representatives will also be on hand to share resources on various University initiatives, opportunities, and programs such as jobs on campus, meal plans, merit scholarships and much more.

Granados said additional summer programming will be offered to help students get ready for Fall at TAMIU.

“We’re eager to welcome our incoming students and want to make sure that they have every opportunity to get ready for an exciting, productive, and successful Fall. We’ll share additional Summer opportunities with media and on University social media,” Granados concluded.

Also this Summer -- the University’s traditional Dusty Camps for incoming freshman and transfer students. These two-day student orientation experiences prepare students for their first semester at the University with academic expectations, campus services, guidance, and a first-hand experience of student life.
