Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) is proud to announce that Rolando Martínez has been appointed as Plant Manager to oversee operations at the University's facilities as part of the Schneider Electric team, TAMIU’s partner in conservation and energy management.

"Martínez’s leadership will drive operational excellence and uphold the high standards that TAMIU is known for," said TAMIU associate vice president of Campus Safety and Planning Trevor Liddle.

Martínez holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering from TAMIU (’18). He brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously worked with JLL in San Antonio and UPS in Dallas, where he honed his skills in operational management.

As Plant Manager, Martínez will be responsible for managing all aspects of TAMIU's plant performance, including production, quality control, maintenance, safety, and contractor management.

TAMIU interim president Juan J. Castillo said Martínez’s appointment underscores the University’s commitment to fostering leadership and innovation within its operations while celebrating the success and expertise of its alumni.

“It’s always exciting to see our graduates flourish and move on to career success.  It’s especially gratifying when they return to Laredo and share their experience and talent.  Rolando’s interest in doing just that for his alma mater is a true success story, and we look forward to his continued contributions to the University’s growth and development,” Castillo said.
