Trailblazer Weekly Bulletin

Trailblazer Image

Good Afternoon Dustdevils,

I am pleased to share today’s Trailblazer Weekly Bulletin for Monday, Nov. 3, 2025.

I extend my appreciation to our students who have voted overwhelmingly to support last week’s Referendum to help maintain and enhance Rec Sports services. Rec Sports is an important part of our TAMIU experience. We will now seek approval from our governing Texas A&M University System Board of Regents at their February 2026 meeting.

Kudos to all involved in the presentation of last Thursday’s Halloween Fest. Hundreds joined us for this popular event that is free for all. Thanks to TAMIU’s SOLE and Campus Activities Board for creating a broad spectrum of experiences including a haunted house, games, food, fun, a pumpkin patch, and Halloween costume contest. See an FB Gallery and a spooky video of “La Sombra” (The Shadow) as well.

THIS WEEK:

Today’s a big day at TAMIU...Registration for Wintermester and Spring 2026 is now underway. Read about our staggered registration schedule and additional registration services.

This Thursday marks another historic milestone for TAMIU. TAMIU’s School of Engineering hosts its Program Launch for our first graduate Engineering program, the Master of Science in Systems Engineering, scheduled to begin this Fall. It’s from 5 to 8 p.m. in the TAMIU Student Center Ballroom. Details here.

COMING UP:

Monday-Tuesday, Nov. 10 – 11 – Shakespeare is coming back to campus with our TAMIU Shakespeare Mini Fest with Texas Shakespeare Festival performances here. Catch free, live theatre on campus with Monday’s “Shakespeare’s Greatest Hits” and Tuesday’s“Julius Caesar” at 7 p.m. in the CFPA Theatre. A special Friday, Nov. 14 panel discussion by the Borderlands Shakespeare Collectiva and free screening of the 1996 film “Romeo and Juliet,” is at the Alamo Drafthouse. Here’s more.

Monday, Nov. 17 – Hear fellow students share what experiential learning (EL) means to them at the LEARN Expo from 3 – 4:30 p.m. at the Student Center Ballroom. Follow @txamiu social media to take part in an owl-themed scavenger hunt celebrating Ernie the Owl, the University’s QEP symbol, now available as a commemorative, collectible owl.

Stop in at the CFPA for “Bloom,” an exhibition of the collaborative colorful works of artist Carlos Rosales-Silva with TAMIU Art students. You’ll be impressed.

Engage yourself in this intriguing array of activities, events, and initiatives brought to you by TAMIU Colleges/Schools and Departments. Be part of the TAMIU Experience!

There’s a great week ahead. If you see me around campus, please introduce yourself...and I’m always up for a selfie with @txamiuprez

Let’s Go Dustdevils!
