Building Floorplans

Floorplans for each campus building are provided below for general wayfinding and identification of select life safety and accessibility equipment and/or integrated features. Each document highlights the building's configuration and academic/administrative room numbers. Additional information is also provided that highlights special resources or safety equipment such as:
  • Fire alarm pull stations
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs)
  • Evacuation routes
  • ...and more

Note: Building floorplans are only accessible to current TAMIU students, faculty, and staff. Building floorplans are updated regularly and may not reflect recent changes to room numbers or reconfigurations/renovations. These maps are provided for general reference only.

Floor Plans

Key

Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) - These lifesaving devices are available for use in a cardiac emergency. They are commonly located on the ground level of each building and are stored in white, metal cabinets identified by a triangle "AED" sign mounted on the wall above.

Fire-Rated Stairwells - Enclosed stairwells with doors that are shut all the time or automatically close upon fire alarm activation. With all features working as intended, these locations offer enhanced protection from fire and smoke and provide a safe means of evacuation from upper levels. Their stairwell landings also are the safest location for individuals with mobility impairment(s) to assemble if unable to evacuate using traditional methods.

Note: Ground-level enclosed stairwells are not highlighted as occupants on this level should attempt to evacuate the building using the available exits.

Evacuation Route (exit to exterior) - The comprehensive path of egress indicated by an arrow or line highlighting the possible pathway(s) to a building exit door.

Fire alarm pull station - Manual fire alarm initiating device used to activate the building's visual and audible evacuation signal. Activation will also notify the UPD and the Fire Department via our offsite monitoring company.

Note: if activating a pull station, it is recommended to call 911 (or UPD at x2911) as well to ensure first responders received the alarm.

Fire Extinguisher - Commonly mounted to the wall on a hook or inside a cabinet, these devices are used to safely extinguish small fires and are provided throughout a building in hallways, select classrooms, laboratories, and more.

Note: Fire extinguishers only identified in publicly-accessible areas.

Academic / Administrative Rooms - Classrooms, offices, and all other rooms with planned academic or administrative functions.

Elevator / ADA life or interior ramp - Interior accessibility features used to traverse a building.

Restrooms - Single or multi-occupant restrooms.
