IT For Students

The Office of Information Technology is here to provide you with advice and support on IT issues during your time at the University. If you are a new TAMIU student visit the Step-by-step guidelines for information on how to create a Dusty account and setup Duo two-factor authentication. If at any point you have questions or need help, contact the Help Desk, Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Account Management

In order to access TAMIU online services and use campus computers, you are required to set up a NetID (Dusty email username - format: netid@dusty.tamiu.edu). During account setup, you will be prompted for your Banner ID/Student ID (A99999999) and your date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy).

The step by step guides provide you with quick and easy instructions on how to create your Dusty account, manage your account, setup two-factor authentication and how to fix WiFi on your personal computer.


Service Groups

Our service groups provide specialized support with any technology questions or concerns.

Questions related to Dusty Accounts: username, password, locked accounts, two-factor authentication; software applications: Microsoft Office 365, Uprint services, WiFi on campus.


Questions related to Blackboard, Instructional Technologies , Blackboard Collaborate, Echo360, Respondus LockDown Browser, Turnitin, VoiceThread, etc.


Questions related to classroom equipment, classroom technology support, recording studio, event technology support.

Resources

Students at TAMIU have access to Microsoft Office 365, cloud-based services, and computer labs on campus at no additional cost during your time as a Dustdevil. Using your Dusty account, you can download or access resources available to you.

Services

TAMIU provides various support services which enhance student learning and safety. OIT Staff are available for assisting with troubleshooting problems that may arise.
